Robbery

Many conversations and negotiations were based on robbery which could draw our attention on the causes of such a widespread problem. The essay examines if the recommendation toward altering laws for the offense of armed robbery is valid. It explains that this recommendation is viewed as a means of providing a stronger deterrence to the crime of armed robbery; as well as providing the possibility of sending a message to offenders that this type of crime will not be tolerated throughout society. Furthermore, the essay will discuss the causes and reasons for robbery, next it will explain some examples based on robbery, and finally possible solutions will be provided in order to minimize the occurrence of robbery.

Robbery has different terms from one country to another depending on its causes and reasons. Robbery is defined as the taking or attempting to take anything of value from the care, custody, or control of a person or persons by force or threat of force or violence and by putting the victim in fear. (Diana Gordon Macyoung 2010). One actual cause is the specific childhood experiences linked to violent crime behavior, and early childhood and adolescent stealing, and aggression, are directly linked to violent crimes in adulthood, including robberies. If very young children are brought to stealing situations at the age of 8, by age 12 many of these troubled children have already been arrested on theft and assault charges. Another major cause of robbery is the loss of employment and corruption in society which creates the ideas of robbing in people’s minds.

There are innumerable situations and methods of robbing which directly affect the population of the country through the damage and injury inflicted by them, both on a physical and financial level. The existence of this occurrence creates fear amongst the citizens and many thieves are caught and have been given serious punishments but the minorities have successfully accomplished their missions such as the Great Train Robbery. The Great Train Robbery counts as one of history’s biggest robberies which amazed humanity. 15 skilled robbers stopped the train by turning off a green track signal and, with batteries, turning on a red signal. The train’s fireman went to investigate and was captured, unharmed; the engineer was severely injured by a blow on the head. The robbers took about 120 mail bags by cars to their farm hideaway, where they divided the loot. Unfortunately, 12 were caught and the rest made their way out. There is no doubt that the phenomenon of stealing will still occur, but the objective is to reduce or prevent the ability to cause a robbing situation. With so many robberies taking place nowadays, every employee who happens to work in an environment where cash and other valuable items are readily available is most certainly at risk; people could reduce the risk of robbery by placing more than one employee on a certain duty at any given time(Crime and Victims 2010). Schools must draw serious attention to their students by viewing some robbing situations and how such situations face serious punishments. Unemployment plays a major role in the robbing situations where people are usually in a serious need of money to save their habits; those people are categorized as hustlers, drug addicts, habitual robbers etc(Rhianna King,2010). In order to attract people to jobs, governments should offer incentives for young people to eliminate unemployment and the thoughts of stealing. In addition companies should show that they are competing for offering the desired income for most people searching for jobs.
